A day at the apple orchard!

A few of my girlfriends from work and their children came down for the day. We had a nice lunch, spent some time just enjoying the nice weather, and we even went to the apple orchard. I only wish we were able to spend more days like today!

First grade

This week has been crazy busy! I can't believe how hard it has been to get back into the swing of things this year after having my summer off! Oh how I wish I could be a stay at home mom! It's just SO hard to be away from Allie lately!!!!
Even though I've been so busy, I have to say that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE first grade! I can't believe how much fun I'm having and how wonderful the two women I teach first grade with are! All the hard work and preparation for this year was worth it and I look forward to a great rest of the year!
TGIF!!!!!

Melkam Addis Amet! (Happy New Year!)

September 11 is referred to as Enkutatash, the Ethiopian New Year! By the Ethiopian calendar, tomorrow will mark the first day of 2002. The best part is that this marks the end of the rainy season where pretty much everything shuts down (including the court systems needed to conduction adoptions) for months at a time and is said to mark "new beginnings". Hopefully this New Year will bring us closer to our "baby E's."

Fun day with daddy!

Cory and I wanted to take Allie to the park today one last time before things get crazy and school starts! We had so much fun... it's hard to believe how big Allie is getting and how much fun every day is! It's crazy to think that she's almost a year and a half!
