I found out that I can't post pictures of our newest little blessing until we are almost ready to leave for India, so for those of you that we don't see every day you'll just have to take my word for it...she's precious!  We have been swamped with paperwork and to do lists for the past week or so.  Today, we all went shopping for a few little things we are going to send to "C" in India.  We're hoping to get it sent off to CHSFS tomorrow and there is a family traveling soon that may take it to her.  It was pretty emotional picking out what to send her...these things will be in our daughters hands in just a few weeks!  Oh I can't wait to get an update on her and to hear how she's doing!!!

I'm really not sure who reads our blog, but I'm hoping that maybe some people will comment and help me out on a few things that I've been wondering about.  If you happen to have adopted a toddler, did you use a moby wrap or a carrier in country.  If so, what brand and how did you like it?   Thanks in advance for any insight any of you can give me!!!

Yes...we did! Our daughter was 18 mo. when we picked her up this last Aug. and I still use it at times! It was a life-saver with having to juggle so much paperwork everywhere. Abby felt secure too. We have a Maya Wrap BTW.

This is so exciting! I can't wait to hear more about your adoption. Congratulations! I'm not familiar with a moby wrap but we used a baby bjorn and loved it. Both of my girls were little of course but I hear they make up for toddlers too. I wouldn't dream of going w/o one to be honest. Great to haul the kid and great way to bond.

Welcome to India adoption! We are awaiting verbal guardianship for our 7 year old deaf daughter in Orissa, India. We have adopted three from India already. They arrived at 3 in 2002, at 9 1/2 in 2004, and 5 1/2 in 2007. We started homestudy for this adoption in January 2010.

I understand wanting a big family. I'm afraid we're finished as a family of 7. Now... if I could win the lottery that would change :)

Thanks so much for your comment yesterday, it meant so much to hear that my words are helping someone else. :) Whew, it's a wild ride!!
As far as a carrier we use the Ergo ALL.THE.TIME!! They can go on the front facing in (perfect for naps on the go in-country) and then go on your back. Bereket is on my back TONS even at 3 1/2!! Just the other day he had one of his "episodes" and I was trying to get some bread in the oven. I popped him in the Ergo and finished my kitchen work. Or when we are going somewhere that has lots of people and I know he will be overwhelmed he gets put in the Ergo. LOVE IT!!!
I'm going to do another post in the next few days about all we are doing to help Bereket heal. It will show all the activities we are doing... trampoline, pushing down walls, water play, rice play, etc. You can always email me if you have questions: cgladheim@gmail.com
I'm so excited for you!!!
