Charu Faith

I love being able to look back on our blog and see how big Allie was, what she looked like when, and just have her life documented.  I hope to be able to do the same for Charu.

At 27 months old, Charu is 21 1/2 pounds and is 32 inches long.  She is and always has been very apprehensive with strangers, but once she knows you she has the sweetest personality!  She is so smiley and loves to make people laugh.  If you laugh at something she does, watch out because you better be prepared to watch her do it about a hundred times cracking up at herself as she does it!

Her vocabulary is increasing every day.  The words she knows and uses are:
dad
mom & mamma
Allie
puppy
up
go
zebra
nigh-night
ba-ba (bottle)
uh-oh
ball
help
ucky
no
bye-bye
hello
hot
two (when I count one, she says two, and sometimes three)
Nana (for banana)

She babbles lots of other things throughout the day in Malayalam (or at least I think they are in her home language) and sings song that I know where songs that I heard at the orphanage with the correct melody too.  It's really sweet to listen to!  She loves music and breaks out in dance whenever music is playing, even the ringtone to my phone.  When I sing the ABC's to her (which I do often), she sings along...not one letter is correct but the melody is correct!  : )

Foods she will eat as of now:
Pizza
Yogurt
Tator Tot Hotdish
Lasagna
Soups
Chicken
Fish (unbreaded only)
Summer Sausage
Cheese
Crackers
Much to her daddy's dismay...ketchup!
Pop Tarts
Roasted Chicken Breast Sub from Subway (LOVES THEM!!!)
Green Olives (a girl after her mamma's heart)
Oatmeal
Cheerios
Toast
Peanut Butter
Apples
Oranges
Pears
Grapes (skin peeled off)
Pineapple
Bananas
Lettuce
Broccoli
Cooked carrots
As far as drinks go, she likes water and a toddler formula that I have her on.  At the orphanage, the children are not eating meat.  We want her to get the nutrients that are important for her while she's getting used to American food.

I'm hoping to get some pictures today, so hopefully I can post some more pictures soon!

What a cutie. She's doing great in what she'll eat!!!

And, I love green olives, too. I buy the HUGE jars from Costco. ;)

Love hearing about Charu's likes and dislikes...I cannot believe how fast she is learning words and how to play with babies etc, especially since she's only been here for 3 weeks! What a blessing to have Charu here for Christmas! Love you all!
