Embassy

We are done at the Embassy, we just have to pick up Charu's visa at 2:30 and then we can officially bring her into the USA! Charu had a MAJOR melt down at while we were there because the security officers had me take her out of the baby wrap she was in, took away her Cheerios to run them through the scanner and then there were tons of people! Thankfully the nice lady who was helping us let me take her outside where I was eventually able to calm her down. I have to admit that as much as I can't wait to get home, I am not looking forward to the plane ride. I pray she is able to sleep through a lot of it and of not, I just pray that the other passengers are understanding!

Excited to hear that everything worked out with Charu's visa and you have clearance to enter the USA! Praying that your flight goes well and that Charu is able to sleep a majority of the time on the plane. Cannot wait to meet our gorgeous niece...we love you guys!

Melt downs are good. That means Charu knows who her Mom and Dad are and she feels safe with you. Don't worry about what others think on the plane. You will know what is right for Charu. You may have more melt downs at the security check points at the airport, but just get through it. I found I carried Clara through most of the airport and ditched the carrier. Hang in there. You are almost HOME!! Thinking of you lots!

Oh, I am praying for you plane ride. Jadon had a complete meltdown in the airport...it was bad. But then he did wonderfully on the whole plane ride. Lily and Grace really did well on the plane, too. Praying that Charu does the same!

I will totally be praying for your plane ride! :) And think of it this way, you'll never see these people again...so even if she does have a complete meltdown...it will end. And you will be HOME!!!! Yay!!!!!!!

Nik, she'll be fine. She knows she is safe with you & Cory. She loves her mommy & daddy and is waiting to get home - just like you! So many adventures! So many new things! She'll be in heaven when she gets home & can be with just her mommy, daddy and big sister. I love you all.

The way I look at it, if adults around you are getting cranky because Charu is fussing . . . well, ONE of them is a grown-up and should have developed some coping skills by now (and it's not Charu)! I know what you mean, though -- it's hard not to feel extra-conspicuous with your new child.

We got the bulkhead seat on one flight, and that helped a lot. Right when you get to the airport and check in, you can request it. It gives you a little more privacy and quiet (and room for Charu to sleep in the airplane bassinet). Praying for your travel!

Praying for your trip home - for sure. In some of the training we went through they discussed that some of the BEST bonding comes when a child is "melting down" - because momma gets a chance to console her -- YEA! I know it doesn't make it any easier at the time - but just think of the bonding opportunity :) Someone also told me that on India flights - people tend to walk around a lot - not sure if that will be helpful or not -- if someone gets cranky - they can always take a break themselves by taking a walk. Continuing to pray for you!
